The 2016 Product Design senior class, the third graduating class from this exciting program, will present their thesis work on Friday, May 27th in the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery (3401 Filbert Street) from 4:30-7:30pm. The unique projects are a culmination of seven months of dedicated work, and they epitomize the individual outcomes of this program’s unique approach to design education. Some projects address issues largely untouched by the design world while others aim to affect positive societal change.

TY3 by Arvid Roach, is a modular prosthetic that mimics the layers of the human arm to provide superior comfort, utility, and beauty. Zidu Li developed T1 a self-driving car.; Hanya Moharram’s, Crystal Cubes, collects stories and experiences by those affected by tragedy, and creates a community storytelling system to heal and share their burden. Jemma Frost produced Journey, a tool that empowers study abroad students to take control of their personal narratives while learning and living in a new culture by way of a physical and digital journal.

The Chinese Learning Lunchbox, by Yudan (Danielle) Check, is a subscription based system for 9-14 year old American-born Chinese children enabling them to experience Chinese culture through food; Candice Kuen’s, Tilo, is an innovative display and organization system catered to renters. The Bravo Pack by Anthony Ferro is a campaign that encourages civilians to connect with the veterans in their community to inspire a welcoming society for our nation’s heroes.
